Abstract

This chapter provides an extensive overview of Australian English. It describes the history of the dialect, the components of the dialect, and a comparison with British and American English. The chapter then provides a thorough and systematic review of literature regarding the acquisition of speech by Australian children, as well as assessments and intervention approaches for working with Australian children.
