Abstract

Bang was written by Jonathan Gavin, produced by White Box Theatre and B Sharp and played at the Downstairs Theatre, Belvoir St from 10 June-4 July 2010. Lighting and Vision Design by Martin Kinnane. Synopsis - Bang explores racial prejudice, the righteousness of religious thought and our lifelong search for a personal faith. Through a shared tragedy - the bombing of a suburban railway station - an Australian family, a Turkish family and two outcasts struggle with a meaning for existence beyond religious or political rhetoric. Their personal stories interweave to ultimately develop a deeper meaning for 'being alive'.
