Abstract

Suzie Gibson lectures in English Literature at Charles Sturt University in Australia. Her research examines literary, philosophical and popular culture texts. She is an avid fan of the Batman franchise, in particular Julie Newmar's seductive portrayal of Catwoman in the 1960s television series. In fact, she owns costumes inspired by Newmar's sleek look and it has been suggested on more than one occasion that she is Catwoman. Batman wins because he is smart enough to hook up with Catwoman in Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises!
