Bonhoeffer, the Ecumenical church, and the things that make for exile

Research output: Contribution to journalArticle

Abstract

The paper advocates a Christian ecumenism based not on the final resolution of inter-confessional controversies, but rather on new life with God in "'being there for others,' through participation in the being of Jesus," and a truly ecumenical commitment to "[s]peak out for those who cannot speak" (Prov. 31:8), to "give much more offence, more shock to the world" than the church is accustomed to give.
