Abstract

In the past Australia has been a net importer of pharmaceuticals. However, with the assitance of the Industry Development Program, Australia is expected to have the fifth largest pharmaceutial industry in the world, and one of the few countries set to achieve a positive balance of trade in pharmaceticals, by the year 2000.
