Abstract
The article reports on the misconception about decimal place value often committed by a mathematics student. Talia Ben-Zeev explains that the errors that students make in mathematics are rational and are logically consistent and rule-based rather than being random. To address such misconception, teachers are advised to consider what can be incorporated into their lessons in order to address or avoid student problems.
