Abstract

Subjects with large student cohorts can present challenges in supporting learning and assessment.

This is the story of using Cadmus to enhance the assessment experience in a foundational subject commencing with more than 1000 students. Onboarding to the Cadmus platform has proved crucial to facilitating student engagement. Cadmus enables the subject coordinator to set up templates, scaffolded instructions and resources to optimise the assessment experience.

Feedback from students revealed that 95% of students scored their Cadmus experience as good – excellent (RR =54%). Cadmus also provided the teaching team with data to improve individual student performance and potentially student success and retention.

The challenges and successes of implementing Cadmus are relevant to all involved in introducing students to new learning tools
