Abstract
The discussers raised points regarding the original paper’s evaluation of the method of Tomasicchio et al. (2013) for longshore sediment transport (LST) prediction. The discussers clarified a typing error in their original paper (Tomasicchio et al. 2013), where the particle porosity (n) should be included in the denominator of the formula for the LST rate [in the form (1 − n)]. The discussers
also provided an explanation for some of the parameters that they used in their method. The writers of this closure contacted the discussers directly to clarify some issues, and consequently received added clarity to their procedure.
