Abstract

Producer: CSU Animation and Visual Effects Showcase 2010. Charles Sturt University presented the second cohort of graduates from the Animation and Visual Effects degree on Sunday 24th October, 2010 with an official premiere of their newly released films. Since the launch of the degree in 2007, the students had evolved from basic 2D concept art through to sophisticated internationally-competitive 3D animations over 3 dedicated years. Embracing the rich history of traditional animation with the latest advances in industry-leading software, the students had meticulously crafted every frame (often with many layers) for the audience. The edit was 40 minutes runtime representing over 60,000 frames of work. I organised the event and compiled the films in Full HD 1080p and encoded the films to be compatible with the custom Forum 6 Cinema system. Three of the films have gone on to be selected in the Melbourne International Animation Festival 2011.
