Abstract

Australian agriculture depends upon legume based pastures. However, at times the legume content in the pastures declines and the quality of pastures, therefore, deteriorates. Australian research has identified that allelopathy is a major factor for legume decline. Improved understanding of the role of allelopathy has led to the successful management of allelopathy to improve pastures and to decrease the adverse allelopathic impacts.
