Drifting homes

The Pacific Islands are drifting and eroding under climate change and Pasifika people and customs are drifting, through migration and remigration. To do biblical studies in such situations requires one to confront the foreignness of biblical criticism, the illusion of reader's control, and the drifting nature of space, people and cultures. This chapter adds a Pasifika voice to those that call for the decolonizing of the tasks of biblical interpretation and their resulting cultures, with an emphasis on how to do (referring to attitude and personality rather than methodology) biblical studies.
