Abstract

Five articles included in this issue look at community development in South Africa, interest free micro credit and mentoring to women in Malaysia, comparison of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and non-CSR projects, and CSR activities and the Sustainable Development Goals in India and female workers in the Ready-Made Garments and textile industry in Bangladesh. The analysis in these articles has some implications for corporations and how they need to work with governments, civil society organisations, and communities cooperatively and constructively. The message to corporations is clear; instead of ruling, they need raise living standards of the world, particularly of the poor, by being sensitive to people and their environment, social, collaborative, and (re)distributive.
