Abstract
While there seems to be some logic to reducing complexity in our organisations by increasing control and uniformity across the workforce, it is important to remember that social, cultural, educational, and experiential diversity will rarely ever undermine organisational stability or service delivery outputs, especially within complex organisations (Uh-Bien et al, 2007; Bäcklander, 2018). In contrast, healthy interactions between diverse colleagues will often drive increased understanding, new innovations, service delivery efficiencies or new processes to address persistent or emerging challenges.
