Abstract

The electronic structure of galvinoxyl free radical was investigated by HeI photoelectron spectroscopy (UPS), DFT calculationsand comparison with the spectra of related compounds. The electronic structure of the radical is similar to p-benzoquinone ratherthan to nitroxide radicals. The relationship between electronic structure and magnetic properties is discussed.
