    Abstract

This book looks at the relationship between Christ and Christians, particularly through the Church and Sacraments. It forms the report of the ninth series of dialogue between the Roman Catholic Church internationally (through the Vatican) and the World Methodist Council, which ran from 2007 to 2011. Specifically it deals with the ways in which Christ comes to His people, as that has been understood ecumenically both in Scripture and in the history of the Church. It then goes on to look at how this encounter occurs in the church, in baptism, in the eucharist, and in the ministry. It concludes by looking at convergence between Catholics and Methodists internationally in these areas, both doctrinally and in practical ways.
