Abstract

Animated videos were integrated into an Interact 2 (I2) site that explore important concepts in fun and interactive ways for first year undergraduate nursing students. The videos are easy to make and can transfer significant amounts of information in very short time frames.

This initiative improved engagement with the I2 site for this subject by making the online environment more accessible. It improved student satisfaction, reduced email traffic from students to academic staff and reduced the feelings of frustration and being overwhelmed that is commonly experienced by students new to study with online delivery.
