Other | We will hold the III Congress of our Society in the beautiful month of May, from the 25th to the 27th, in the even more beautiful Ismaili Center in Lisbon. The Ismaili Center was born on December 18, 1996, and is characterized not only for being a place of prayer for the community, but also for being a meeting point for people from different social and cultural backgrounds, thus promoting the creation of bridges between various communities. A place for sharing knowledge and intellectual development, celebrating values such as pluralism. From here, it is easy to understand the choice of venue for our III congress. As we can see, the program also translates not only the growth of this society but also the constant concern in promoting research and demonstrating the efficacy and efficiency of the therapeutic methodologies of the various clinical areas of Speech Therapy. The culmination of this theme is well reflected in the launch of the book “Compendium in Speech Therapy: to assess and intervene with evidence” – surely the biggest scientific milestone in the history of Portuguese Speech Therapy. We have some foreign guests in the presential format, Alexandre Cavallieri Gomes and Victoria Joffe, and in the distance format, Anna Volkmer, Anne Vertigan, Cristina Murphy, Richard Talbot and Sharynne McLeod. We also have 6 workshops for you on May 25th, which will take place in Saldanha, at Best Office Saldanha. This will be followed by two days with 6 conferences, 4 round tables, free papers, posters, and also a visit to our partners who keep us up to date on materials, training, equipment, among others. It will be a mega congress! We will also have surprises, because after all the language of science also intersects with the language of the affections. And because SPTF should also tell the History of Speech Therapy and there is no present or future without a past, it is with great honor that we tell you the story of Gabriela Leal, Speech Therapist, Honorary President of this Congress , whose contribution to Speech Therapy and to the training of hundreds of colleagues, is exalted and truly inspiring. We are counting on you in this III Congress which is also the Congress of reunion after more complicated times experienced by all. |
