    Abstract

This chapter addresses Alain Baidiou's theorisation of eventness by bringing it into relation with phenomenology and the artwork. In particular, it looks at the presentation of the coups in Fiji in fiction, raising questions of the phenomenology of the event, and the possibility of deconstruction.
