Abstract

Introduction/rationale: Evidence-informed practice (EIP) involves seeking reliable information to inform healthcare decision-making and integrating this with other considerations, such as the client’s situation and perspective, clinical experience, and the broader practice context. Clinical placement provides an ideal opportunity for health students to develop skills in EIP. Clinical supervisors play a critical role in facilitating and assessing students’ EIP capabilities using discipline-specific competence-assessment tools.
