Experiences using an online poster exhibition to provide summative assessment with industry engagement

Abstract

For many of us, COVID-19 required us to adapt our delivery and assessment. During this presentation I will share my experiences of developing and evaluating an undergraduate online poster exhibition via Zoom as part of a summative assessment task within diagnostic radiography. The task was originally planned as a face to face large scale exhibition but had to adapted in direct response to the restrictions imposed by COVID-19 and the transition to a fully on online delivery model. Moving to an online poster exhibition format, still enabled my students to experience a real-world engagement opportunity with peers and industry professionals, and it provided them with greater confidence to submit a poster at a professional conference in the future. Through my short presentation I hope to demonstrate how one of my own teaching challenges of 2020 led to an innovative assessment solution that could be harnessed in the future.
