1. Research question Can a rapid solution be found and executed within 24-hours to seamlessly fix a broadcast quality animation without the original source files? 2. Research contribution (Innovation/New knowledge) The author/artist is interested in exploring solutions to a complex visual problem. By employing motion tracking and masks, the background footage was replaced and the foreground restored. The application of these techniques has the potential to save visual artists days of rotoscoping in similar scenarios. 3. Research significance (Evidence of quality) The significance of this work is in its innovative utilization of contemporary technologies to explore simple solutions to complex visual problems. The success of the project is evident in that no-one can perceive that one lady was removed from the original advertisement.
