    Abstract

AI tools play a pivotal role in modern research, offering numerous benefits to students and researchers. From streamlining literature reviews to aiding data analysis and manuscript writing, these tools are transforming the academic landscape. In this session, we’ll explore how AI tools can be effectively utilised in research, including literature and systematic reviews, and cover what is involved in responsible and ethical use. Additionally, we’ll demonstrate the application of specific examples: Copilot, Gemini, Research Rabbit and SciSpace. At Charles Sturt we have recently published an OER, Using AI Tools at University https://opentext.csu.edu.au/usingai/ which provides further detailed guidance for our students and researchers on using these tools in their research process.
