Our aim was to investigate the re-differentiation capacity of canine and equine chondrocytes following lentiviral vector mediated expression of induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cell factors Oct4, Sox2, Klf4 and c-Myc (OSKM) along with the chondrogenic transcription factor Sox9. We hypothesised that lentiviral expression of the iPS factors and Sox9 enhance chondrogenesis. Lentiviral vector expression was efficient at transgene delivery in these cell types.
