Abstract
This chapter explores artworks by Robert Walton, Kris Verdonck and Lucy Bleach that centre rocks, seismic activity and rock formations. We draw in discussion of Indigenous Australian systems of knowledge that situate rocks as sacred, animate and ancestral beings. We consider rock performance for the ways in which it reveals alternative cycles of dynamic re-composition and more-than-human scale and temporality.
