Abstract
An illustrated interpretive booklet about post-war assisted Greek migration that deals with their experiences of the Bonegilla Reception and Training Centre. It uses the National Heritage Listed site itself and National Australian Archive photos and documents as well as memorabilia collected at the Albury Library Museum to answer several questions. What insights do the site and its records yield (i) into assisted Greek migrant arrival and early settlement experiences; (ii) how have arrival and early settlement experiences of assisted Greek migrants been remembered or re-imagined?; (iii) what kind of place was Bonegilla for Greeks? Greek Journeys through Bonegilla was awarded a Commendation in the Best collaborative/ community work category of the 2011 Victorian Community History Awards.
