Abstract

We report the study of the electronic structure of CHFI2, CHBrI2, CHBr2I, CHClI2, and CHCl2I using VUV photoelectron spectroscopy (UPS). The lone pair orbital interactions are discussed on the basis of experimental results and comparisons with other halomethanes.
