Abstract

In this chapter I discuss the significance of names in my community of origin, and how that has influenced my own appreciation of my own names. I theorize that names are regarded as conveyors of the spirit from one generation to the next. From that cultural perspective, names play a very powerful link between the past, the present and the future.
