OtherThe Maldives is at an advanced stage of implementing a national single window (SW) system. To support this initiative, a training workshop will be organized to equip participants with practical solutions to support the implementation process. The training aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of SW, success stories and best practices from other countries, and a clear pathway to implement the national single window in the Maldives. The training will be structured into three parts: stocktaking, deep dive, and way forward. Key topics covered during the training include SW development in Asia and the Pacific, streamlining trade processes, SW international standards, harmonizing trade forms, legal issues, risk management, and selecting appropriate business and operating models. The training will involve lectures and group exercises.

Format

The event will involve both lectures and group exercises. The anticipated arrangement is for attendees to be separated into groups and create presentations based on the guidance provided by the speakers. Furthermore, a webinar on latest single window development, especially on IMO's Facilitation (FAL) Convention Amendments which will make the single window for data exchange a mandatory requirement in ports worldwide and EU Single Window Environment for Customs, will be organized as part of the national training workshop in Maldives.
