Abstract

A published journal essay for the publication of Craft Arts International periodical. In the national publication from Craft Arts International, entitled: CRAFT ARTS INTERNATIONAL, edition No.84, March 2012. This journal publication is the leading quarterly in art, design and craft in Australia, and has widespread international presence. This journal was published as Issue 84, Craft Arts International. This article is a Textual work: an Art History essay that is both of a critique of regional drawing through exhibition review, and addresses the context and debate about the evolution of Australian drawing since the 1980s in a national and international context. It focuses on the role of drawing as an independent art activity in relation to contemporary new media practices.
