Abstract
A shortage of rural mental health workers and the inability to recruit, retain and sustain them in a safe, fulfilling work environment is undermining the ability of NGOs to deliver sustainable, quality services to communities in need. This report presents the findings and the outputs generated from a pilot research project investigating how to build a lasting and resilient mental health workforce in regional NSW through effective evidence-based recruitment, retention, and wellbeing strategies. The research is funded by NSW Health through The Peregrine Centre as part of the Rural Mental Health Partnership Grant.
