    Abstract

Inferno was inspired by Dante's Inferno from The Divine Comedy. The visceral and amazing nature of circus beautifully underscores and intergrates the narrative of Dante's mystery tour through heaven and hell. This production was devised and directed by John Saunders in collaboration with students from The National Institute for Circus Arts and played at The Big Top, St Kilda Beach Foreshore in Melbourne from 25 November to 12 December 2004.
