Abstract
This chapter deals with the interaction between the Christian Gospel and the varied cultures of the North Molucca Islands in Indonesia from 1521 until the present day. It looks at the interaction specifically of non-individualised forms of community and Christian doctrines, and concludes that a highly indigenised form of Christianity developed in these islands. As a result there are strong lessons to be learnt for non-Western expressions of Christian faith.
