Abstract
This thesis examined the development of fresh expressions of church across the Anglican, Uniting and Churches of Christ in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory. It attended to the experience of innovation by practitioners, advocates and executives. It argued that leaders eager for ecclesial innovation must engage with its inherent complexity. This involves not merely creating flexible organisational systems of administration and training but also fostering dynamic cultures, promoting theological collaboration and encouraging personal behaviours critical to innovative practice.
