Intelligibility enhancement assessment and intervention for multilingual university students

Abstract

A single-case experimental design was used with two multilingual university students to demonstrate the effectiveness of Intelligibility Enhancement intervention on (1) production of consonants, consonant clusters, and syllables (2) acceptability of speech rate, volume, and word stress (3) perceptions of intelligibility, confidence, and ease communicating in English. Following intervention, both participants displayed increased performance in speech and intelligibility.
