Abstract

The International Animation Festival 2004 featured a celebrated collection of the world's finest animation. As co-director, producer and fund-raiser for the event, I organised the venue, technical duties and marketing for the evening. The festival premiered at the Wagga Wagga Civic Theatre, Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga on Friday 22nd October and Saturday 23rd October, 2004, and featured complete and uncut the legendary work of John Kricfalusi of Ren & Stimpy fame. The festival represented everything from the latest Aardman classic Creature Comforts "Cats Or Dogs" to the breathtaking patience of Oio, a film that took 11 years, 540l of paint, 56 colours, 33000 digitised images to complete. The success of the event evolved into an annual screening exclusive to Wagga Wagga.
