Introduction to Integrative Oncology

Research output: Book/ReportTextbook/Reference bookpeer-review

Abstract

Many cancer patients seek out complementary treatments, by some estimates up to 80 percent. In many cases these are either ineffective or dangerous. This work presents herbs, compounds, and supplements that have research and proven clinical applications to support patients in cancer recovery. It also details studies of CAM in cancer treatment, giving both positive and negative reports. There is a comprehensive annotated listing of CAM methods and medicinals from both Western and Chinese practice for use with cancer therapy, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy as well as for chemotherapy and radiotherapy side effects.
