T1 - Introduction to Multispecies Information Science
AU - Solhjoo, Niloofar

N2 - How do antelopes, gorillas, birds, and even seeds shape Library and Information Science (LIS)? By tracing the footprints of nonhuman animals in LIS theories and practices, I aim to demonstrate how a new lens of Multispecies Information Science is emerging within LIS. Multispecies Information Science emphasises the importance of attending to the diverse agencies that inform the world alongside humans. This shift opens new possibilities for knowledge creation, documentation, information practices, and information design. The presentation provides information and communication scholars interested in working in more-than-human contexts with insights into what LIS can offer in expanding knowledge and practice beyond human.
