Abstract

This exhibition was a nationally selected, curated, invitation only survey of contemporary Australian textiles. The original major creative visual-art works, Jacob's Book and 'Salt-Ash and Wind Searching for Ghosts' were selected by Kelly Gellatly, Director of the Ian Potter Museum of Art at the University of Melbourne formerly, Senior Curator of Contemporary Art at the National Gallery of Victoria on the basis of the work proposed and an artist's research statement. The inclusion of the 2 works in the exhibition contributes to the field of textile art and is one of a series of works as part of on-going research, toward my current PhD candidature at CSU, 'Temporary Alignments: fraught fictions and fragile facts'.
