    Abstract

This is Paul, writing to those whom John Main would have called teh ordinary men and womenm the butchers and bakers of Ephesus. If I had to sum up the animating drive behind John Main's teaching it would be in these words of Paul. Like Paul, he longs for each of us to realize (in both senses of that word) the enormity of the gift we have been given and the power and love of the life that it makes possible.
