Abstract

We live in an increasingly post-literate age where the tweeted or texted sound-bite becomes crucial to social stability. Yet at this crucial time, humans heedlessly throw words around with little thought of the consequences. This is why thinkers like Richard Rorty are important to our culture because they are wise enough to know the importance of language and its relationship to meaning.
