Abstract
Letter to the editor. We posed the question: Can peripheral mechanisms explain why exercise terminates at submaximal levels of skeletal muscle recruitment (activation) as shown by Dr. Ekblom and his colleagues (1, 2). Few respondents addressed that challenge.
