Abstract
To the editor, Today I saw the best of my profession (SBS Insight S20E17 'Veterinary Care'i). For the first time it was veterinarians telling the story of veterinarians rather than a public figure intuiting what they imagine it must be like.
I am overcome with respect and, gratitude for the vets who shared their stories and for the first time in a long time, I feel hopeful for the future of our profession. Not a small thing on the same day that I learned of the loss of another budding colleague, just one year shy of graduation.
