    Abstract

This collaboration between David Gilbey and Scott Howie sculpts lines from a poem into a new, original hand-designed font as an icon for ERA's regional identity and enterprise. The idea was to create a new work of public art which would represent something of the diversity of Riverina arts this new work uses text and typography to suggest the meaningfulness of the artist's endeavour. Erected in the main street of Wagga Wagga the 'sign' competes with commercial and public spaces to 'speak' from a locality to a region in a unique 'voice'.
