Abstract

The Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child SexualAbuse commissioned a major study into how juries reason in childsexual abuse trials. The study, released in May, is the largest empiricalstudy of its kind. The report forms part of the Royal Commission'sresearch program in relation to the criminal justice system's responseto child sexual abuse in institutional contexts. The following articleprovides an overview of the study and its main findings.
