Abstract

This article is a Textual work: an Art History essay that is both of a critique of the research methodology within the wider field of contemporary arts practice and further locates the particular creative practice as drawing and embroidery in relation to the broader evolution of each discipline as part of my CSU-PhD creative practice as research candidature; as specified within Original Creative Works criteria. My contribution was a theoretic repositioning of the role of contemporary hybrid drawing/embroidery as contingent practices, in challenging traditional visual narrative models investigating themes of damage and doubt in relation to recent questioning of dominant Australian early Colonial history.
