Nursery Rhyme Classics: Best Loved Rhymes

Research output: Book/ReportBook

Abstract

This is an anthology of traditional nursery rhymes with an Australian perspective, commissioned by Bolinda as an original audiobook. Some little known classic Australian rhymes are included from the 19th and early 20th centuries. Some traditional English rhymes have been updated and adapted by me to give them an Australian flavour. The production includes spoken rhymes and rhymes put to music. The anthology is based on six months research that covered 50 existing anthologies of nursery rhymes, research in 19th and early 20th century newspapers, magazines and journals for little known Australian nursery rhymes, and manuscript collections. The research also included scholarship focusing on the oral tradition in the United Kingdom.
