Abstract

Emergency nurses frequently find themselves faced with legal issues within the workplace. These issues include those of privacy, consent, negligence and the restriction of personal liberties. Situations that arise that are legal in nature may extend beyond the immediate work environment to include other areas such as the Nurses Tribunal, the Guardianship Tribunal, the Coroner’s Court and the Supreme Court.
