Abstract

Successful active learning needs higher education teachers to understand relationship between teaching and learning, align teacher-learner goals, construct an appropriate practice environment, monitor students’ actions, and provide meaningful feedback. This report reviews literature on professional and practice-based education (P&PBE). This study discusses designing and developing an appropriate student learning experience at postgraduate level related to P&PBE. As P&PBE has become an important part of the mainstream for universities, universities need provide a curriculum P&PBE framework that integrates teaching, learning, assessment, curriculum design, learning environment and infrastructure in order to help students to develop highly qualified graduate attributes. Moreover, there is a need for academics be actively involved with P&PBE. All these efforts contribute to quality of university professional courses.
