Abstract

The article discusses the implications of marijuana on coping mechanism of people. It is noted that people use marijuana to wind down and revive. It may increase vulnerability to some of its sharper edges. In addition, it distances the people who is using it from the reality which could add another filter to the experience of the world. However, the relaxing effects of marijuana can provide a bit of perspective on problem situations that would otherwise be difficult to gain. It also restores emotionally depleted resources and overly intense engagements.
