OtherThe ACM Annual National Conference is a key opportunity for midwifery researchers, innovators, educators and clinicians to share their findings and expertise. Each year, we showcase new, topical and original studies of relevance to midwives working in all areas of practice.

For the 2025 National Conference in Darwin the theme is Midwifery Footprints and we are calling for abstracts in the areas of Leadership, Innovation, Scope of practice, Workforce and Rural and Remote Midwifery.

The ACM National Conference has a strong research focus but we are working to expand the type of content. Presentations are not limited to research and we encourage you to submit a case study or presentation around something new that you’re doing or trialing in your place of work, even if it’s not a formal research project.

ACM National Conferences are an opportunity for you to broaden your career. Whether it’s your first conference or you’re a seasoned presenter, it’s a supportive environment. There are tools to help prepare abstracts and presentations if there is any uncertainty.

Oral presentations are strictly 20 minutes (15 minute presentation and 5 minutes of questions). Poster presentations will be five minutes long and take place in concurrent sessions with 1 Powerpoint slide and the option to physically hang an A1 portrait poster at the conference.

We have a new process for uploading the presentations at the conference in 2025. Presenters will be sent a link and will be required to upload their Powerpoint presentation by 5th September 2025.

Only two abstracts per person will be accepted in 2025. Please consider submitting additional abstracts under a different member of your research team.

All presenters need to purchase a three day conference ticket before 7th July 2025. Ticket information and how to register is available here.

Once submissions close, abstracts will be blind scored according to this matrix and successful presenters will be offered a place in the program. The National Conference Scientific Committee will then put the program together. If you would like to be an abstract reviewer, please apply here.
